Delicious natural products are not our only aim. We want everything prior to the cooperative to be sustainable as well. And this corporate social responsibility has been rewarded with quality labels.

We aim to minimize the possible negative effects of our activities on the community and the environment. To this end, we are always prepared to enter into discussions with our stakeholders in order to continue improving our CSR thinking and actions and to formulate goals.

People. Planet. Profit.

The health and safety of our staff are very important to us. On every level:

  • Health: electric forklift trucks, stackers, medical inspection, etc.
  • Social dialogue: our staff has a say about the policy
  • Safety: safety plan
  • Training

Coöperatie Hoogstraten cv has resolutely chosen for a diversity policy. We don't make any distinction in terms of origin, gender, age or talents.

The environment is also important to us. We already have more than 5,000 solar panels on our roofs, good for an annual return of 1.12 MWh, or about 15% of our energy requirements.

We collect rainwater and use it in the pipes of our cooling systems. Result: our water consumption has dropped 50% in ten years.

Sustainability is also apparent in our transparant and cost efficient sales system: clock auctions

CSR charter

Hoogstraten signed the CSR charter (corporate social responsibility), an initiative of employers' organisation VOKA and the province of Antwerp.

This charter shapes our social engagement. We communicate about this with full transparency to our stakeholders and share our experiences with the outside world.

This quality label proves that we grow and sell our fruit and vegetables with a sense of responsibility and social engagement. Because we continue to focus on people, planet and profit.
